A stunning and unique Gothic style Lodge situated in the picturesque village of Southstoke just 2 miles south of Bath. This Grade 2 listed, one bed property, has a variety of original features Available mid March 2019.

South Stoke is a small picturesque village situated on the southern fringes of the city of Bath. It is located 2 miles (3 km) south of the city. The village provides views over the surrounding countryside and is the starting point for many country walks. A popular route is to visit other villages and their pubs in the area, such as Combe Hay and Midford via the now disused Somerset Coal Canal. You may also like to visit the nearby South Stoke Millennium Viewpoint which is a stone seated beauty spot providing far reaching views towards the Westbury White Horse hill and beyond. South Stoke is a designated Conservation Area and the buildings are mainly built with cream oolitic limestone. There are no less than 27 listed structures in and around the immediate village which has retained much of its original character and historic appeal. The village church is dedicated to St James and dates from the 12th century. Although the village has a very rural secluded feeling it is also very usefully only 1/3 mile to the nearest bus stop to the city and public house and ½ mile to the nearest local supermarket and petrol station. You also have Combe Down village nearby with its abundance of amenities, shops and all levels of schooling.

You enter through a projected gable porch complete with a striking plank studded front door. Once inside the spacious grand porch you immediately notice the variety of original features including Gothic style windows and stone pillars. From the porch stairs provide access to the first floor bedroom, a hallway leads to the bathroom and dining room. The bathroom is light and fresh with an enclosed panelled bath, over the bath shower, white wc, sink with under sink storage unit and laminate flooring. Taking the stairs to the bedroom you find a good size double with plenty of natural light. A built in storage cupboard offers useful storage space and a feature fireplace creates a fetching focal point. The dining room can easily accommodate a good size table and chairs, whilst creating a cosy space ideal for entertaining. A lovely bay window affords glorious views out into the side garden and village beyond. Through here you have access to kitchen with stunning views out over the rear and side of the property. The kitchen has neutral wall and base units and a new integrated oven and hob. Following the stone steps from the kitchen you arrive in the lower ground lounge currently being used as a bedroom. A fully glazed door gives access to the private walled south facing rear garden. Externally you approach the garden through a black wrought iron gate to the side of the property. The garden is mainly laid to lawn, the first part mainly functional with a shed and washing line. Taking the path around to the back garden there is a patio area immediately outside the lower ground floor entrance and an outside tap. This property is only available and suitable to a professional couple or single person. No students , sharers or pets. Available mid March 2019.
